The Foxglove House : The Atlas 12,ooo$ Modulor Home : Details of Folding mechanism and Cipher Wheel House Key :::---:::--
As show previously, the Foxglove House, (designed upon observation of The Foxglove plant itself) has four decks about it that fold upon itself to protect itself.
The house sits about 6 feet off the ground, on Steel Pilotti, which allow for animals to pass unimpeded underneath, plants to grow, and a small brook to pass underneath.
The House's decks are attached to a counterweights, which reside in a poured concrete "well" underneath the house.
The Folding Mechanism for the house can be activated from within, or externally via a Key that is a combination lock based upon The Jefferson Cipher, and the wheels of WWII era ENiGMA machines ---
The House Key is inserted into a metal Rod, protruding from beautiful Landscaping. if The combination is set correctly, the activation lever can then be pulled, causing the decks to the house to Unfold, allowing for entry. The door to the house also takes the insertion of the cipher wheel lock to be opened.
The Decks unfold slowly, with the assistance of a motor, on a gear with a ratchet which makes an extraordinary satisfying "Cah-Chunk click, click, click, sound" ---
If any hot stud-mechanist would like to hang out with me in the Art-Design-Invention studio and create a prototype of The EniGma house key , please contact me --- I suspect that a protoype will take from 3o - 5o hours to make, of great craftsmanship, and an almost Watchmaker-like Attention to Detail ~ ~ ~
Thank you for your Time and Attention,

It occurred to me yesterday evening that perhaps one of the reasons that i am addicted to Beethoven's Great Fugue is because it is an Open System.
Unlike a Fugue of Bach's which can only be complete with no more less than it has, as a modulor unit - the Great Fugue could be extrapolated upon endlessly , or stopped abruptly and it would still be a complete piece of music. Self- Similar and not.
Similarly, Frank Lloyd Wright's early Houses In the Prairie Style and The Usonian Houses of his later years are both examples of open systems. if you took 1/1o th of the house it would still be a complete whole, and the house could be increased exponentially in square footage and endless variation and remain intact and perfectly beautiful. If grown along lines of the program of the design.
It took Music literally millions and millions of years to break the boundaries imposed upon it --- similarly, Architecture did not explode the box until Frank Lloyd Wright emerged onto the scene -
When there is an excess of life, an organism of a higher plane emerges from that excess.
An Acorn, the seed of a maple tree, a butterfly, an architecture in the classical canon such as The Parthenon, cannot have one iota of substance either added or subtracted with out being ruined, made incomplete.
These are examples of closed systems - and perhaps their beauty emerges from the fact that they are the most expedient and efficient form possible based upon aeons of Nature's Trial and Error.
Liszt's "Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2" is also an example of an open system.
-Compared to -
Bach's "Crab Canon" Which could not be possibly anything other than what it is.
Then there are systems that are a hybrid of open and closed. Such as the human body, a galaxy, or a city.
The Human body unfolds in growth along the lines of a program, but as far as we know there is no limit to its density --- is becomes ever more complex the deeper one looks at it. And there seems to be no limits to the ability of the brain to fit new material. A human brain , though its outer edges are hard determined, seems capable of infinite growth into an increasingly smaller scale that also leads to proportionately enormous growth.
A Galaxy is defined by an outer edge bordered by Dark Matter, yet is akin to the brain or a body in its flexibility, and so a City - whose boundaries, whether it be a wall, or arbitrary GPS coordinates - has both a hard boundary, but almost always grows along lines of geographic expediency and efficiency (as inculcated by that efficiency rather than planned consciously by human beings)

In Whatcom County, Washington State, on August 7th, we will be voting in among, numerous other positions. A new county prosecutor. This will be the first time that we have had a new county prosecutor since we Elected Dave McEachran over 4o years ago (!) ---
Under McEachran's leadership county prosecutions have risen sharply on a curve in sharp contrast with the national averages which have been leveling out (and decreasing). The county jail has become an over-crowded gulag that is full of ethnic minorities, First Nations people, and the poor of our county. People who spend months and years in there before having their time in court. (as well as people who are in mental health crisis or are otherwise homeless). Or people who have been otherwise inadvertently caught up in the system (like the author)
We have continued to experience the same problems in our county with crime and so forth because the underlying issues of racism, lack of living wage jobs, housing unaffordability, and untreated health problems are not being addressed.
Instead , what has supposed to be a branch of government to administer justice has decayed into a Judicio-Industrial Complex , an industry that uses people as raw material in order to pay for expenses in a county with few living wage jobs. most of those expenses are the 13o,ooo$+ salaries of local politicians.
While our schools decay, and our roads, and our communties in general. The County Courthouse continues to grow, as well as the prosecuting attorney's office now having 37 lawyers in its employ. Perhaps the biggest prosecuting attorney department in the county. in a city of 8o,ooo people!
Every time a defendant appears in court, the County Prosecutor makes 1o,ooo$ - every weekday in 4 or 5 courtrooms, appear a dozen up to 5o defendents. Every day, all year, year on end.
(your author appeared 24 times in 3 years. 23 of those were continuances!)
Whatcom County's biggest industry is our courthouse and jail , and people are fodder for the factory whose mass production siphons off enormous capital from the taxpayer while destroying families, heightening and deepening xenophobia, leading to the continue decay of communities, and the general dissoulution of the human spirit. As well as Eating up funds that ought to go to infrastructure.
Much of our County legislature has been woefully inept or otherwise corrupt for decades. This has led to a general stagnation and low morale in our area. The County Prosecutor (and public defender's department) are gross examples of this corruption and general decay of morals, and a bastardized substitute for "Justice" - Justice as a higher spiritual and moral order that not only leads to strong communities, and their continued preservation for the exponential growth and general wealth and abundance that having a strong and highly effective, streamlined judicial branch inculcates.
The County Council, the bellingham city council, the courthouse, the sheriff's office, the prosecutor and public defender's departments are all running on a dangerous autopilot and "Business as usual" mentality - they are completely oblivious to the power that they wield, and the consequences of their decisions that tear familys apart, and people's lives by the score everyday.
This needs to Stop.
We have an extraordinary opportunity this election. To influence a great shift in the way things are run locally, by electing James Erb as County Prosecutor.
Mr. Erb is committed to Social Justice and fiscal responsibility. His campaign is to utilize already strong and well organized grassroots activism to lower incarceration rates, recidivism, while addressing the underlying issues that contribute to mass incarceration.
He plans to save the taxpayers huge amounts of money by making the prosecuting attorney office leaner, and generally cutting off the fat from the local fat cats wherever possible.
Mr. Erb believes in tolerance and acceptance for all people. Helping to solve our local housing crisis, lack of jobs, and the unfair (and unconstitutional) processes of putting people in jail until they can pay bail, and funneling people who are into mental health crisis into the dungeon that is the local jail.
He believes in immigrant rights, the welfare and constitution ( and protection) of the family unit. He is actively working to make our communities safer, crime free while exploring alternatives to incarceration and disposing of human beings into institutions.
I, your writer, am extremely excited for the incredible opportunity that we have in James Erb. I have been waiting for this moment for 5 years, perhaps longer.
Full Disclosure : I have gone through the judicial system in Whatcom County. Served time in our Jail. appeared in court 24 times (including before the other guy who is running against Mr. Erb - who was present at all my court appearances) - and learned massive amounts about the power and influence that a county prosecutor wields, and even more so in Whatcom County than many other places.
I am currently paying my debt to society for my mistakes, with 2 years of probation ending in March. and $12oo in court fines.
The election of a county prosecutor may not seem to important in the scheme of things, but I can promise you in this case that it is. Because the way that our Prosecuting attorney office has been running for half a century has altered the entire course of our county's trajectory. And mostly in bad ways.
Poor leadership for 46 years has done untold damage. But we are in a unique position to correct this tailspin. And Mr. Erb will to be alone in his work for progress, as he has numerous non profit organizations and influential citizens who have been literally praying to God for relief to the human suffering we have witnessed in our local system for some time.
In a way, Mr. Erb is an answer to our prayers. I know that i feel that he is the answer to mine. I pray nearly every night for those poor unfortunate souls in the local jail as I hear them moaning and wailing on my walk back to the art studio. I have been for 4 years. I have shed many tears of relief, joy and cautious hope lately --- that people will not have to continue to suffer the cruelty (psychological, physical, spiritual) that the local system has been inflicting mercilessly, especially on those populations who are in the unfortunate position of not being able to protect themselves and their families. Often by no fault of their own.
Let's support local business like I-Tech and Faithlife and The Woods Coffee chain who provide living wage jobs, and cease to use human beings as the "liquid assets" to make up for a century of poor planning. Including, "What is going to be our industry after the trees are all logged and Georgia Pacific Leaves town?" ---
We can have safe communities. we can have a sparsely populated well built clean and human jail. We can have low crime.
We also can have low unemployment (or underemployment), low rates of homelessness, racism --- and good strong families, solid to whether the storms of life.
A family is built of strong individuals, and strong healthy communities are built from strong families.
Please, let's not cripple our communities (and our children's future) anymore by voting in more of the same.
Please vote your conscious on August 7th.
And Please Vote James Erb!
