Atlas Design Co. stems out of several basic needs of American Society that we have come to understand in the preceding decades. Atlas strives to provide working-sustainable solutions to the following collective dilemmas:
1)The need for employment of skilled artisans/craftspersons/engineers in work that is fulfilling to and in accordance with their wholistic health.
2)The need of the American Economy for small-scale manufacture of products of quality to the highest degree possible-
3)The need for an alternative for the dominating criminal consumer model of planned obsolescence.
4)The need for sustainable social and environmental change for our Community and Worldkind.
5)The need to create a Environmental and Socially Responsible/Sustainable way of life for our Community and Worldkind.
6)The need for Grassroots Research and Development for utilitarian purpose, as well as to satiate the human lust for knowledge in and of its own sake.
The Mission of Atlas Design Co. is to achieve these goals through experimentation, and the application of certain practical methods, some of which are inspired by successful models of the past, such as the Roycrofter's Movement, The Louis Comfort Tiffany Design Atelier, and Thomas Edison's Menlo Park amd West Orange Laboratories; synthesized with strategems and influences especially pertinent to the 21st century - and beyond--

Atlas Design Co. works largely through commission (as well as its own private enterprise- in tandem with Roxbury Live/Work/Research Community for Advancement of the Living Arts and Sciences)-
Atlas Design Co. is collectively owned, that means that employees are entitled to a percentage of company profits from 90% of gross profit, as entitled by having ownership in the company through being an employee.
Atlas Design Co. seeks to create a community of artisans within the greater community of where it exists, Atlas Design Co. works in tandem with Non-profit organizations, philanthropic and social support networks, locally owned companies seeking to forge new relationships with Atlas Design Co. and each other - in search of creating in quality- in collaboration with benefits for the community, country, and greater world-kind.
